Tap-to-Review Cards: A Small Business Owner's Honest FAQ

By Ragu Karthigesan · 4 July 2026

Tap-to-review cards look almost too simple to work. Here are the questions owners actually ask us before buying — answered straight.

Do they really increase reviews?

Yes, and the mechanism is boring: most happy customers never leave a review because the process takes effort at a moment they're leaving. Collapse the effort to one tap at the counter, plus a verbal nudge, and a meaningful share of them follow through. Businesses using cards consistently see multiples of their previous review rate.

Will it work on every phone?

Every modern iPhone and Android has NFC switched on for payments, and tapping the card triggers the link the same way. For the rare exceptions, every TotalBiz card also carries a printed QR code — so nobody's left out.

Is it allowed?

Completely. The card just removes friction from a genuine ask. What's not allowed — by Google and by Australian Consumer Law — is faking, buying or screening reviews. A tap card does none of that.

What if my details change?

That's the trap with cheap fixed-link cards. Ours use dynamic links: the destination is updateable any time from our dashboard, and every tap is counted so you can see the card working. Message us on WhatsApp and we'll have a programmed card at your counter within days.
